Backerkit, Late Pledges and post Kickstarter Pledge Goals
over 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 23, 2018 at 12:43:51 AM

Hi everyone,

To start off with I'd like to thank everyone including the development team an our backers for helping to bring our shared vision of Albedo into reality on all of our table tops.

As Mike said, last weekend when the campaign completed, Ann & I were promoting Albedo at a games show in Reading and since we got back we have been working flat out getting to grips with Backerkit.

We will be using Backerkit as the platform for managing your pledges as it has become the leading edge fulfillment tool with lots of functionality for tweaking your pledges and for keeping us updated with address changes etc. In a couple of weeks, when Kickstarter have confirmed every bodies pledges we will be sending out surveys via Backerkit so that you can tell us exactly what you wanted.

In the mean time, if you missed out on getting your pledge in, or you know some one who wanted to back us but missed out, our Backerkit Late Pledge / Pre-order store is now open. Just click on the big blue button to visit it.

We are also using a brand new bit of Backerkit functionality to enable us to offer Backerkit 'stretch goals'.

We have listed 4 items we would like to have funded via kick starter:

Toki Character Model

Aerodynes

Civilian Crowd / Protestors Set

2nd ILR Vehicle Type

These each have a stretch goal of 40 set, so basically if you would like one (or more) add it to your order, you will not get charged for it until we get pre-orders for 40, which is enough to fund there design & development.

..and we”re off!

Chris and Ann are at the Warfare show in Reading, UK this weekend, so it’s my job to say thanks properly and outline the next steps.

So, firstly, “Thanks!” You have really enabled us to push this game along, and we can’t wait to share more of it with you.

Over the next couple of days, we will finalise the pledge calculator and backer kit to include all the new goodies you funded. This will include the 8 wheel APC model.

It will also include the character models that were not funded, such as Toki, large and small frame models, as well as the Aero -4 Aerodyne. If there’s enough interest in these, they will be made. If not, they will be put in the development queue.

The additional heads listed will be monthly releases starting in January.

I’ve backed a bunch of Kickstarter projects now, and this one is number 83. Creators always say it’s a wild ride, and even though we didn’t raise a billion dollars, as we had secretly hoped, it’s certainly been a journey. I will admit to having a glass of shandy last night to celebrate, and that I’m feeling a little dusty this morning.

But tomorrow, it’s game on. I better finish painting those dratted miniatures!

Thanks again,

Mike

Last Minutes
over 5 years ago – Sat, Nov 17, 2018 at 01:20:41 AM

Hi again,

Last three hours to run, and we did an estimate of the cost of making the 8 wheel ILR APC. It’s looking like £28 per unit, and a platoon will have three of them.

We will honour that price if anyone wants to adjust their pledge accordingly!

Cheers,

Mike

£14,000 Stretch Goal Unlocked
over 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 16, 2018 at 01:20:04 AM

Wow. Just when I thought it was all over bar the shouting, you amazing people hit another stretch goal!

We just unlocked the EDF Carbine with underslung Grenade Launcher... giving the Infantry a bit of spot firepower when they need it the most...

Next stop, the big cahuna! Can we get the ILR APC unlocked?

We haven’t decided whether to do the six or eight wheeler...

It’s up to you... if everyone adjusted their pledge by the same amount as the cost of the EDF vehicle, we’d crack the goal easily.

We are nearly at the beginning of the ride.

Hi all,

With 36 hours left on the Kickstarter, it feels like we’re nearly at the end of the ride. But of course, we’re not.

That’s because when the timer shuts off, we on the design team have a buttload of work to do.

The good thing is that we’re already quite a long way down the road.Right now I’m writing the last few pages of the sourcebook, and making notes for the campaign book.I was up late last night checking proof sculpts of weapons and miniatures for canon compliance and spent a goodly amount of time cleaning up the forums yesterday.

But there is so much more to do, and we’re really looking forward to it.

If you are reading this, you are interested in our project, but you might not have decided to back us yet.

Now would be a really good time.  We’re still hovering around the £13,500 mark, and we really, really want to get to £15,000 so we can make the ILR APC to match the EDF version.

Of course, we’re really like to make it to £25,000 so we can make the Aerodyne, but that’s probably not on the cards.

We’ve collectively put hundreds of hours into making what we hope is a really high quality product, and so far the industry agrees with us, judging by the reviews we’ve been getting.  If you agree with us, please tell your friends. If you aren’t sure… well, unlike most funding campaigns you can actually buy product now, and see real miniatures at trade shows and conventions.

I had written a whole spiel about pledging. But in reality, nothing I write is going to make a big difference at this stage – I expect the people who are seriously interested have actually put their hands in their pocket already – and I’m not going to rabbit on about that or badger you for more money.

If you already backed the project, then thank you for trusting us and getting in on the ground floor!

If not, you still have 36 hours to reconsider…

Now, back to work (…and checking the KS page every ten minutes.)

Regards,

Mike
