Extra Update: ILR APC

Hi there,

  just a quickie... here's a shot of the finished ILR 8-wheeler APC

It looks like the gunner has been overdoing it, because there's a definite kink in that barrel... the camera never lies!

As you can see, each axle is a separate moulding.  This gives rise to a number of possibilities.

Possibilities like posing the wheels in different directions, or at different heights on a scenic base, for example.

Like the EDF vehicles, there's a plethora of details.  The turret ring casting pops out, and can be replaced with a casting of additional infantry hatches for the straight APC version, or other variants that right now are only rumoured to exist.

I've also seen the 6 wheel vehicle - which is so cute.  But that's embargoed for now, so you will have to take my word for it!

Writing Status Update

 Hi all,  Mike here...

I just wanted to give you an update on the progress of the writing side of the game. First up, the sourcebook is now getting ready for layout and art insertion - you might have seen some of the groovy new stuff that Steve is producing to go into the book.

Secondly, I'm still working on the campaign book. I have some reasonable excuses for being tardy on this one - all my stuff is now in a shipping container, and I just started a new job... blah blah blah. But I'm getting close now.

The scenarios are set on an arid world in the Almata system - it's a series of big desert islands, effectively. I've got lots of data on it, because it's the basis for my long term RPG game - five years and running.

It's relatively easy to write a campaign for 'conventional' miniatures games, because there's so much actual history to draw on. But in this instance, while I know the background, you won't. So it's a matter of presenting the information in context, if you like.

That means the campaign book contains a short history of the Almata system, a run through of the events in which the scenarios are based, and then the scenarios themselves. If there's space, I'd like to add some RPG plots as well, but there might not be.

So, that's what's happening! I'll keep you posted on progress.

Playtest rules: last chance for feedback

Hi all,

We’re about to put the rulebook to bed, which it turns out is a printing thing!

So, if you had any feedback you wanted to share at this point, we’d really appreciate it.

On the other hand, if you’ve already read and play tested everything, let us know that too!

We’ll be finalising text until 1600 Greenwich time on Thursday 28th Feb. So, please email or post your feedback before then.

Albedo Miniatures Game:ACP164 Kickstarter Progress – February 2019

 Overall we are still on track to fulfill all kickstarter pledges on time, in July.

This month progress has been made in the following areas.

Rulebook – The full rules have been delivered to Kickstarter backers as a PDF file for playtesting. 

Playtesters have until the 1st March to submit feedback at which point final revisions will be applied to the rulebook prior to proof reading and graphic layout.

Sourcebook – Final draft has been submitted and the book is being proofread during Febuary.

Campaign Supplement – Final revisions by author.

Miniatures

Final batch of Kickstarter related sculpts with Sculptor – delivery expected by end of February.

Pre-Production & Production Mould Making – Underway

Casting – 69% complete (The EDF Heavy Infantry & ILR Skirmish Infantry Squads have been cast)

Vehicles

AV8 Series vehicles in production.

Design underway for ILR 8 Wheel & 6 Wheel APC

Albedo New Release Schedule Feb-April 2019

As you all know from the start of the Kickstarter campaign, our approach has always been to release the core Albedo Miniatures before the Kickstarter started so that backers and non-backers alike could start playing / collecting and participating in the playtest of the rules, straight away. The other part of our approach is to support Albedo ACP164 with monthly new releases straight away to keep up interest in the game while the rules and source book go through the publishing cycle.
